The Mental Health Education Resource Centre is funded by Manitoba Health and is a program of CMHA located at 4 Fort Street. It contains a large lending library with many reading materials, videos, training kits, newsletters, brochures and fact sheets on mental health and related issues. Two research computers are available for searching the MHERC library and internet.
Everyone across the province are welcome to use the resouces including, individuals with mental illness, friends and families, doctors, service providers, educators, caregivers and the general public.
The staff and volunteers are able to provide information on mental health, available services and related issues. This service is not provided by health professionals. If medical advice is needed, contacting a physician or other health care professional is advised.

Borrowing Procedures
The following are MHERC's library borrowing procedures:

A library registration form must be completely filled out and signed. Present with current address, either a Manitoba drivers licence or Manitoba Health card. Out of city borrowers will complete form via fax or send with returned materials.

There is no charge for membership.

The lending period for any of the resource materials is two weeks.

Individual is responsible for all items checked out in his/her name.

Items may be renewed for two more weeks, up to four times, by phone, email or on the MHERC website, if item is not reserved or booked.

Reminder calls, fax or email will be made on overdue items. A fine will be charged for overdue material of 35 cents per day on each item with a maximum fine of $10.50.

Should material be lost, full replacement cost will be charged to the person whose authorized signature in on the registration form.

All reference material, vertical file material and journals must remain in library. Photocopies may be requested within copyright regulations at a fee.

For those unable to visit the Resource Centre, due to lack of transportation, illness, rural location, etc., we will mail out resources.
